The auto-disconnect feature in Windows95 and Windows98 can become a problem when downloading very large files. The auto-disconnect feature can be quickly and simply disabled. First, go to your Internet control panel. To do this click on Start, then select Settings, and then Control Panel . Locate and double-click on the Internet control panel. In the Internet control panel, locate and click on the Connection tab. Depending on whether you have Windows95 or Windows98, the following will vary: If you have Windows98 or a later version of Windows95, click on the Settings button to the right of Connect to the Internet using a modem. At the bottom of the Dial-Up Settings window, uncheck the Disconnect if idle for option. If you have an older version of Windows95, uncheck the Disconnect if idle for option in the Dialing section. You can now exit from the Internet control panel. |
