Use the following steps to change your local dial-up connection number. Windows95, 98, or 98 Second Edition Locate and double-click on the My Computer icon (it should be located on your desktop). Next, locate and double-click on the Dial-Up Networking
folder. Select your NorthNet connection with a single-click (don't double- In the Phone number section you should see the local access number listed in the Telephone number field. To change your dial-in number, simply erase the number listed and enter the new number. To exit Dial-Up Networking, click the OK button and then close the Dial-Up Networking window. Now when you connect to NorthNet, you'll be using the new local access telephone number.
Windows Millenium Edition Locate and click on the Start button, then locate and click Settings, and then locate and click on Dial-Up Networking . Select your NorthNet connection with a single-click (don't double-click; if you double-click the dial-up connection window will appear and you will need to cancel the connection window). Now, select Properties from the File menu. If this doesn't work, try clicking with the right mouse button on your NorthNet connection and then select Properties from the pull-down window. In the Phone number section you should see the local access number listed in the Telephone number field. To change your dial-in number, simply erase the number listed and enter the new number. To exit Dial-Up Networking, click the OK button and then close the Dial-Up Networking window. Now when you connect to NorthNet, you'll be using the new local access telephone number.
Windows 2000 Locate and click on the Start button, then locate and click Settings, then locate and click on Network and Dial-Up Networking , and then select your NorthNet connection with a single-click. Now, click the Properties button from on the Connect Connection window. In the Phone number section you should see the local access number listed in the Phone number field. To change your dial-in number, simply erase the number listed and enter the new number. To exit Dial-Up Networking, click the OK button and then close the Dial-Up Networking window. Now when you connect to NorthNet, you'll be using the new local access telephone number.
Windows XP Locate and click on the Start button, then locate and click Control Panel. In the Control Panel area first be sure that you are in Classic View. If you are in Category View, simply click link in the upper-left on the Switch to Classic View link. Now, locate the icon titled Network Connections and double-click it. Now, with the right mouse button, right-click on your NorthNet connection and then select Properties from the pull-down menu with a single left-click. In the Phone number section you should see the local access number listed in the Phone number field. To change your dial-in number, simply erase the number listed and enter the new number. To exit Dial-Up Networking, click the OK button and then close the Dial-Up Networking window and then close the Control Panel window. Now when you connect to NorthNet, you'll be using the new local access telephone number. |
